The Borinqueneers
Another amazing story will be coming to the classrooms and communities of central Wisconsin!! This years veteran's day program will consist of two members from the all Puerto Rican 65th Infantry Regiment; SGM Victor Lopez Nievez and César Antonio Pabón-Péres. The presentation will also include Noemi Figueroa Soulet, the Producer, Director and Writer of The Borinqueneers, a documentary film which depicts the history of this regiment.
The 65th regiment is the only Hispanic-segregated unit in Army history! This award-winning film has been presented nationally on PBS in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands; on the Armed Forces Network to more than 850,000 U.S. troops overseas and on the Pentagon Channel.
This event is free and open to the public and is an opportunity that you do not want to miss! Please mark your calendars and join us in commemorating the sacrifices that the 65th Infantry Regiment has made for our country and to take a walk in the shoes of Victor, Cesar, and Noemi.
